Daily Fantasy Sports NBA Stats Dump 4-4

Biggest day of the year in Daily Fantasy Sports today, with Baseball’s opening day, the start of the Masters, and a full NBA schedule. Pay attention to our twitter today, FanDuel is offering a $1000 opening day freeroll, and we’ll be posting a link to it shortly.

Personally all I can say, is thank god baseball is about to start. I enjoy watching basketball, but for Daily Fantasy Sports purposes, it has nothing on baseball. Get ready for tons of action, tons of new money to enter the Daily Fantasy Sports economy, and for a ton of games.

Daily Fantasy Sports Top Players

We had a treat last night with an amazing set of NBA games for Daily Fantasy Sports. That double-header of Miami vs Oklahoma City, and the Lakers vs Clippers was probably the best basketball we’ve seen all season. It’s not surprising that the two top performances from last night’s games comes from those 2 games.

  • Lebron James: King James put on a show last night, and effectively locked up the 2012 MVP race with his performance last night. On both ends of the court LBJ dominated, scoring 34 points, with 7 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block he was amazing last night. Kevin Durant still managed to score 30 last night, but it never really felt like he was affecting the game, and had 9 turnovers in the face of James amazing defense.
  • Andrew Bynum: Bynum said it best last night, when asked about the highlight reel dunks Blake Griffin had, “He can have his highlights, we’ll take the win.” Bynum was the epitome of that sentiment last night, almost workman like in how he eviscerated the Clippers poor post defense. He put up 36 points, with 8 boards, 4 blocks, and 1 steal, and was quite simply unstoppable last night in everything he did. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that we’ll soon be calling Bynum the most talented center in the NBA, because unlike Dwight he’s not content to depend simply on his natural ability and is constantly improving. Unlike Dwight he has a full set of moves from either side of the court, can make freethrows, and because of his length and size is probably a harder person to defend. Dwight obviously can do things on the defensive end that Bynum can’t, but who would you rather have at the end of games?

Daily Fantasy Sports Duds

  • Zach Randolph: Zeebo has been injured the entire season, so it’s not surprising that he’s struggling. But last night wasn’t a struggle, it was an abortion of a game. He only managed to play 22.5 minutes because he was so ineffective, scoring 6 points and dragging in 4 boards. Memphis is a legitimately scary playoff contender if he can get his fat-ass in shape and Mike Conley gets healthy, but right now their prospects aren’t looking pretty.
  • Evan Turner: The frustrating Daily Fantasy Sports performanaces from Evan Turner continued last night. After a night in which he put up great numbers vs the tough defense of Miami and managed to score 30 daily fantasy points, Turner scored 9 points on FanDuel. He only got 26 minutes, but he was 2/10 from the field and only managed to score 4 points, with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. The worst part about it, is he was playing against the non-existent defense of Demar DeRozan last night.
